For Employers
Highline College Community & Employment Services has over thirty years’ experience creating successful job matches. Our staff consult with employers to provide job analyses, orientations, and personal coaching in order to obtain and maintain successful job matches. Our services are at no cost to the employer and meet the reasonable accommodation standards required by the American with Disabilities Act.
Screening
We pre-screen job candidates by working with them before application to assess their skills, interests and abilities. When we bring a candidate to you, we are confident that they can meet the needs of your business.
Job match
Once the student has been assessed, our staff work to obtain employment positions with organizations where job responsibilities match the student’s skills set. We evaluate the environment, supports, and tasks of any potential job in an effort to make a good match for an organization’s business and culture.
Placement
Once you have selected a candidate for your position, our staff can assist during the initial orientation and training. Once the basic job skills are acquired and your new employee is comfortable in their new role, we will continue to be available to provide long-term support.
Long-term follow along
Community and Employment Services is successful when our candidates and employers succeed. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Our services are no cost to the employer.
At the start of a new job, we will provide more intensive supports that may include being present with the candidate one on one at work. Over time, as the student learns the job and the employer feels confident in their skills, our support will fade back and the student will be more independent.
We will support the candidate to engage with any training you typically provide new employees, both in person and online. Your staff will train the student while their Employment Consultant is present to learn at the same time. The Employment Consultant can then serve as an extra set of eyes to support the new employee to learn the tasks efficiently and accurately.
